A Busy Saturday Ahead

This Saturday, 14th December, we are going to be at two markets - weather & stock permitting.

From 9am until lunch time we will be at Germany Bar & Grill on the highway next to Max Wash car wash. Then in the afternoon, if the weather is kind, we will be at the Street Market on Pedro Clissante.

For those of you who have not yet picked up your Sweet Pickle, we do still have some left, but hurry because it is selling fast!

We also have Pickled Eggs, Onions & Dill Pickles, & of course our ever-popular Sausage Rolls.

For those of you with a sweet tooth we have Scottish Tablet - it is a cross between fudge & toffee, very sweet & available for RD100 for a whole 200g tablet or RD20 a slice. I checked on the internet & in the UK a 200g tablet sells for over RD200!

It Is Ready!

Louise has been working like a demon to get the Sweet Pickle ready, & now it is.

We have a limited stock which I am sure will sell out in no time whatsoever.

In addition to our Pickled Onions, Eggs, Vegetables, Garlic & Shalots we have added the following

At Last It's Ready!

A few weeks ago a friend of ours suggested that Louise make a "Branston" pickle. For those who don't know what it is, it's a sweet sandwich pickle, normally served on cheese or meat sandwiches in England.

Never one to shirk from a challenge, Louise set to the task with her usual gusto. Now one week later we are proud to release

Well I never!

It's amazing that we're still getting about ten views a day on our blog!

Even though MarLou's Restaurant has been closed for over eight months now people are still looking for us on Google.

We're flattered and wonder what people are missing lol.

Whatever it is, we're sorry that Costambar didn't provide what we needed to make our life on this wonderful island of the Dominican Republic complete. We have moved on and have found our own slice of paradise in Sosua.

As I write this it has been thirteen days since the last powercut here. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Maybe it is all the money we're saving by living here AND having our garbage collected three times a week without fail for just RD300 a month.

Who knows!

Whatever it is, we're happy and settled into our new home and, profitable, business.

Our good friends also know that we're planning something big before Easter.
